Year One

On Monday the 18th of June 2007 the fire fighters came to visit Year 1. The fire fighters wear oxygen tanks to breath in the smoke and they have a special uniform. They showed us the fire truck and the hose too. They sprayed water out of the hose onto the garden. If there is a fire in your house you need to GET DOWN LOW AND GO GO GO and they will come to your house. The firemen turned on the truck and the truck made a loud noise. They came late because maybe there was a fire at someone’s house.                               Mohamad

On Monday the 18th of June some fire-fighters from Lidcombe came to visit Year 1. The fire fighters talked to us about fire safety and what to do if there is a fire in your house. If there is a lot of smoke the fire fighters use an oxygen tank. If there is a fire in your street call 000.  Fire fighters use special uniforms to protect them from the fire. They use a hose to put out the fires. Fire fighters are community helpers.     Mehmet
